Why Choose This 7 Days Nepal Tour?

This itinerary works because it packs Nepal's three defining experiences into a single, well-paced week:

Kathmandu gives you Nepal's living history — centuries-old Durbar Squares, sacred temples, and Buddhist stupas that are still part of daily life for millions of Nepalis.

Pokhara gives you the Himalayas without a trek — a sunrise view of the Annapurna range from Sarangkot, a peaceful boat ride on Phewa Lake, and some of the best mountain scenery accessible by road anywhere in the world.

Chitwan gives you Nepal's wild side — a UNESCO-listed national park where jeep safaris, canoe rides, and jungle walks bring you close to one-horned rhinos, deer, crocodiles, and, with good fortune, the elusive Bengal tiger.

Kathmandu Valley itself holds seven separate monument zones within its UNESCO World Heritage listing, including the Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares along with Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Changu Narayan — meaning even a short stay in the capital covers an extraordinary depth of history. Chitwan National Park, meanwhile, is itself a UNESCO Natural World Heritage property, home to one of Asia's most important populations of the greater one-horned rhinoceros as well as endangered Bengal tigers.

Put together, this is not a generic "see three cities" package — it is a carefully sequenced introduction to Nepal's culture, mountains, and nature, built around real travel logistics rather than a copy-paste itinerary.

Why does the price change with group size?

The per-person cost decreases as group size increases because certain costs — the private vehicle, guide fee, and driver — are shared across more travelers, while hotel rooms on a twin/double-sharing basis also reduce per-person accommodation cost compared to solo travel. Safari activities in Chitwan are typically priced per group as well, so larger groups benefit from economies of scale. Solo travelers pay a higher per-person rate because they cover the full cost of the private vehicle and guide independently.

Prices above are indicative starting rates based on 3-star standard accommodation. Rates vary based on your chosen hotel category (3-star, 4-star, or 5-star), travel season, and any optional add-ons. Contact Royal Nepal Holidays with your travel dates and group size for a confirmed quote.

10 Days A more relaxed pace across the same three destinations
12–14 Days Additional destinations or a short trek
15+ Days Trekking combined with cultural exploration

7 Days Nepal Tour Package for Indian Travelers

Indian nationals are among the most frequent visitors to Nepal, and this itinerary is well suited to a one-week holiday from India.

Getting to Nepal: Indian travelers can fly directly into Kathmandu from major Indian cities, or enter overland via border crossings such as Sunauli, Raxaul, or Kakarbhitta if traveling by road.

Currency: Indian Rupees are widely accepted in Nepal at a fixed exchange rate (with the exception of INR 500 notes, which are restricted), alongside the local Nepali Rupee.

Travel documents: Indian citizens do not require a visa to enter Nepal but should carry a valid passport or voter ID card as identification.

Food: Vegetarian and Jain food preferences can be accommodated throughout the tour — please inform us in advance so we can brief hotels and restaurants.

Connectivity: Local SIM cards and eSIMs are easily available in Kathmandu for affordable data and calling.

Family travel: This itinerary's easy pacing and full-board Chitwan stay make it particularly comfortable for Indian families traveling with children or elderly parents.

We can tailor this package specifically as a 7 Days Nepal Tour Package from India, adjusting the itinerary start point, meal preferences, and hotel category to match Indian traveler expectations.

Best Time for a 7 Days Nepal Tour

Spring (March–May): Pleasant temperatures, generally clear mountain views, and blooming rhododendron forests around Pokhara. One of the two best seasons for this itinerary.

Monsoon (June–August): Warm and rainy, with lush green landscapes but a higher chance of cloud cover obscuring mountain views and occasional road disruptions on the Kathmandu–Pokhara highway.

Autumn (September–November): Widely considered the best season for this tour — stable weather, the clearest mountain visibility of the year, and comfortable daytime temperatures. This is also the busiest season, so book hotels early.

Winter (December–February): Cooler mornings and evenings, especially in Kathmandu and Pokhara, but generally good daytime sightseeing conditions and often excellent mountain visibility from Sarangkot.

7 Days Nepal Tour – Travel Information

What to Pack: Comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket, rain protection, sunglasses, sunscreen, a sun hat, a small day bag, personal medication, and a camera.

Money in Nepal: The local currency is the Nepali Rupee (NPR). Cash is preferred for small purchases and local markets, while hotels and larger restaurants generally accept cards. ATMs are widely available in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Internet and SIM Card: Local SIM cards and tourist eSIMs are inexpensive and easy to purchase on arrival at Kathmandu airport or in the city.

Electricity: Nepal generally uses 220–240V with round two- or three-pin plugs; a universal adapter is recommended.

Drinking Water: Bottled or filtered water is recommended throughout the tour rather than tap water.

Clothing: Modest clothing is appreciated when visiting temples and religious sites — shoulders and knees covered is a respectful standard.

Food: Nepali, Indian, Chinese, and international cuisine are all widely available in Kathmandu and Pokhara; Chitwan resorts typically serve set meals as part of full-board packages.

Safety: Nepal is generally safe for tourists; usual travel precautions around belongings and road crossings apply, and our guide will be with you throughout the trip.

Altitude on the 7 Days Nepal Tour

Kathmandu (~1,400 m) → Pokhara (~800 m) → Sarangkot (~1,600–1,700 m) → Chitwan (~100–200 m)

This is a sightseeing holiday rather than a high-altitude trekking itinerary, so altitude sickness is generally not a concern on this route. The highest point, Sarangkot, sits well below altitudes where acclimatization becomes necessary, making this tour comfortable for travelers of all ages and fitness levels.

Customize Your 7 Days Nepal Tour

This itinerary can be adjusted to match your interests, budget, and available time. Popular add-ons include:

  • Everest scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu
  • Nagarkot sunrise excursion
  • Chandragiri Cable Car
  • Manakamana Cable Car
  • Pokhara paragliding
  • Pokhara cable car to the World Peace Pagoda
  • Extra night in Chitwan for a second safari
  • Upgrade to luxury hotels throughout
  • Domestic flights in place of road travel
  • Extension to Lumbini or Muktinath

Tell us your travel dates, number of travelers, and preferred hotel category, and Royal Nepal Holidays will customize the itinerary and pricing accordingly.

The Right Balance Of Culture, Mountains And Wildlife

I Only Had Seven Days Available For Nepal, So I Wanted An Itinerary That Would Give Me More Than Just Kathmandu. The Kathmandu–Pokhara–Chitwan Route Turned Out To Be Exactly What I Was Looking For.

The Heritage Sites In Kathmandu Provided A Fascinating Cultural Start, Followed By The Completely Different Atmosphere Of Pokhara. I Especially Enjoyed The Early Morning Trip To Sarangkot And Spending Time Around Phewa Lake. Chitwan Was The Biggest Change Of Scenery, And The Jungle Safari Was A Memorable Way To Finish The Trip.

Rameshwor Was An Excellent Guide. He Knew The History And Culture Well, But He Also Gave Me Space To Enjoy The Scenery And Take Photographs. Sushil Made The Booking And Coordination Straightforward From The Beginning.

The Itinerary Is Quite Active, So It Helps To Be Prepared For Several Travel Days, But If You Want To See Different Sides Of Nepal In One Week, This Is A Very Good Option.
